Sulfur Recovery Unit

Sulfur Recovery Unit

Amine Gas Treating, or sweetening, is a process using amine solution to remove acid gases (H2S and CO2) from complex hydrocarbon mixtures in refineries and gas plants. Once the acid gases have been separated, they are typically further treated in a Claus Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU). This process converts the H2S into stable and environmentally neutral elemental sulfur. A SRU requires a suite of process gas analyzers to achieve the highest level of sulfur recovery and minimizes polluting SO2 emissions.
